If you have been exposed to mold and have a genetic makeup associated with increased risk for mold illness, there are a few things you can do to heal from mold illness:

Remove Yourself from Moldy Environment

The single most important action you must take, no matter how difficult it may be, is to remove yourself from the moldy environment that is making you ill. If you have mold illness and continue to expose yourself to mold, you will not respond positively to any treatment and will likely only get sicker.

Remediation is an option that I strongly recommend, but keep in mind that it is costly and takes some time. While mold remediation is happening, you must find somewhere else to stay.

Workplace Mold

If you have determined that your workplace is moldy, I recommend that you bring the issue to management and/or your Human Resources (HR) department so they can address it. Hopefully, they can fix the problem and offer a mold-free work environment.

Temporary Fixes

While you are waiting for remediation of mold from your home or workplace, there are a couple of things you can do to reduce your mold illness from getting worse.

First, invest in a quality air purifier that eliminates mold toxicity from the air. Filters such as the Air Oasis™ will minimize the amount of mold inhaled through the lungs and then distributed throughout the rest of the body.

Second, detox your body. Return Healthy’s Binder Blend is a supplement I developed that promotes detoxification by trapping biotoxins and then moving them out of the body through the digestive tract.

Mold Testing for Your Home

If you want to test your home or a prospective home for mold, the ERMI (Environmental Relative Moldiness index) or HERTSMI are the most reliable methods. Below are the two that I recommend:

Mycometrics Home Mold test

Website: http://mycometrics.com/
Test name: ERMI – AccuCloth Kit
Cost: $290

EnviroBiomics

Test name: ERMI Panel
Cost: $240

Remediation

If you’ve determined that there is mold in your home, remediation is a must. Mold remediation is the process where a qualified professional assesses, removes, and restores your home to a mold free environment. This includes determining where the mold is growing, removing and properly disposing of contaminated items, cleaning the air, and restoring any areas or items of your home that had to be demolished in the process.
